The Bangladesh General Student Rights Reservation Council banner cleared the road from the Raju sculpture of Dhaka University to Shaheed Minar on Sunday. The same program has been observed in different educational institutions across the country.Hassan Al Mamun, Chief Coordinator of the protesters at a brief rally at the VC premises after the sweeping rally, demanded the reform of the quota demand of 150 million people of the country. The talented people need leadership in the development of the country. In that case, the demand is reasonable. At the time of March 29, the civic rally announced that it will change on 31 March where top intellectuals will give their valuable consent.
On March 18, a protest rally was launched against the quota reformist protesters demanding withdrawal of the case and reform of quota. From there, the announcement of this frenzied protest came from. They have been agitating for a five-point demand from February 14.They already continued their protests for sixth time.
Currrent distribution of quota system in govt. job Freedom fighter quota: 30% ,female quota: 10% ,district quota: 10%, tribal quota: 5%, disability quota: 1% ,Total: 56% is in quota and 44% comes from general students.Recently govt has taken a wise step by which protestors one of the claimed points is satisfied.
And they are determined that they will continue their peaceful movement as long as it takes to reform quota system.The claims are - reform quota if you do not get a quota candidate, appoint a vacancy in the vacant posts, do not use quota facilities in the employment recruitment test multiple times, do not take any special recruitment test of quota, set the uniform mark and age limit for all in the field of employment.
