So, this isn't exactly new news but I feel like I should give my opinion on it. For those of you who don't know, Hermione is a character who was portrayed as a black person in the play 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' which she has never been in any of the books or films. This annoys me as a Harry Potter fanatic and J.K Rowling has responded to this by saying
Yet, she DID specify the race. Just look at the cover of the Deathly Hallows:
That is NOT a black person. (Side note her face is lighter on the actual book, but my camera doesn't work well under artificial light) And in ALL of the films she's been portrayed as a white person:

My point is that Hermione has never been black so J.K Rowling should stop changing the race of characters just to seem PC. It's a MARKETING STUNT. That's all it is, a ploy to get more people watching a play because it's got a diverse cast. Rowling isn't doing it because she's progressive, she's doing it to appeal to feminazis. I'm all for blacks having main roles J.K, but your idea of changing an established fact that fans have agreed upon for about a 1/5 of a century is not going to work. If you really wanted Hermione to be black, you should have said so in 1999 when she was first portrayed as white on the cover of PoA, not 18 years later...
