Both these cryptocoins- Reddcoin and Steeemit have same objective i.e. revenue earning for users through creating and curating contents.
These coins are a token to the users.

But the approach is different.

Reddcoin -

it is a universal coin which will unify all the social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, etc. will be connected through this coin. All the users which are present in these platforms can earn revenue for their contribution for posting contents and also commenting, liking others' contents.

There is a disadvantage that the data of these platforms will not be in Blockchain-based database. Hence, they are not hacking-proof.
Development status: it will come out in Q4 2017.

Steemit -

Steemit, on other hand is a unique social media platform which is blockchain based i.e. data created are kept securely on distributed ledger.

Hence, they are hacking-proof.
But the disadvantages is that the existing platforms where users are present shall have to repost their data in order to bring their followers to this platform. Infact, one of the Steemit users has been asking suggestions for transporting his 20k subscribers from YouTube to Steemit.
