I remember how it was when I was a red fish. Not clearly enough I'm afraid, although it was less then a year ago.
Back then there was the bandwidth system. Now we have the resource credits system, a much better one, but still quite restrictive to newcomers that don't power up more STEEM.
I remember I bought around 40 STEEM and powered them up when STEEM was around $4, when new people ran into a bandwidth limitation issue. I did it mostly because I didn't want that to happen to me either. But I don't regret that decision, even though STEEM is almost 50 cents now. And I continued to buy more on its way down, because I believe in its intrinsic value and its future.
So I haven't fought so hard to rise my account from 15 SP delegated by Steemit to 40 or 50 SP earned only through rewards. That is a tough, uphill battle for most people. But some have fought it, and they have my respect for making it through, because at first is very unlikely to get noticed and be rewarded consistently.
I do have goals of growing my own account. But at the same time, I want to help those who are less fortunate than me and are either too early in their journey or cannot afford to boost their account by buying more STEEM and powering up.
That's one of the main reasons I hold these monthly contests. To help other members of the community grow as well!
That being said...
Today is Saturday, and guess what's tomorrow? Sunday of course!
But also the day I announce the winner of the prizes of our November contest!
Let's remind you what the prizes are:
1x 50 STEEM Power Delegation until the Next Month' Contest
3x SBI Shares*
*) If you don't know what a SBI share is, you can find out more on their account @steembasicincome. In essence, you receive upvotes for life from one of their SBI pool accounts, or the main account. The weight of the upvote depends on how many shares you have, basically. The more, the better.
