"Studying is not just about memorizing facts; it's about developing a deep understanding that transforms information into wisdom." - Albert Einstein
If you thought studying is about memorizing facts, you are quite wrong. Of course, there are times when you need to memorize, but often memorizing is a quite fruitless habit, unless you memorize with a clear goal. If surviving an upcoming test is the goal, then it will most likely be fruitless. But, if you have a goal of actually accomplishing something with the knowledge, it will be useful.
By memorizing, you will learn new information and you will add it to your knowledge-library. It is then easy to pick up later because you have it on the inside, meaning you don't need a book or Wikipedia or your smart-phone to find it. As you have a lot of such knowledge insde, you will see that all that information stored inside will turn into wisdom. How come?
As you grow in knowledge and understanding, you will be wiser. It is easy for us in this world to look up something online and explain what the symptom we experience might be. Maybe you even go to the doctor to tell them what you discovered. You feel wise!
But, the doctor in front of you has studied for years and knows way more than you. They don't just see the symptoms and the article you discovered online. They know about the entire anatomy of your body, about the nervous system, and about all sorts of connection you have no clue about. This all together gives them way more wisdom and understanding, and hopefully, helps them give you even better answers than a quick Google search will do.
