Today, I checked again on my blog that I made yesterday morning, and I expected a normal increase in upvotes and payout. Nothing could prepare me for what happened next.
Apparently, this "bot" named @superfipo downvoted my post using 100% of its voting weight. What's worse is that my overall payout took a hit, decreasing from $ 0.54 to $ 0.51. I couldn't think of any acceptable reason for why this happened to me. In my opinion, my content was original, the picture I used was authentic and wasn't plagiarized, and I didn't use any foul play in making my blog.
Turns out I wasn't the only one who got downvoted by this inexplicable waste of an account. I searched for @superfipo on steemd.com, and I found out that this "bot" just appeared 7 hours ago and is going on a spree of doing nothing but downvoting people. I don't know if @superfipo is really a bot, because if you ask me, if the only reason an account exists is to downvote other people's hard work on Steemit, then it's not worth creating and keeping around in the first place.
If there's anyone out there who can do anything about this, please act immediately. I beg you. Stop this thing in its tracks as soon as possible, for the sake of other small accounts like me who are barely making a payout. Thank you in advance.
UPDATE
Many other bots that downvote posts have surfaced, such as @superlove, @jeanmarlo, @donaldducky, @charlesbiters, and @dervuptli, to name a few. There could possibly be more out there. I encourage you to do your part in reporting these bots. If you've also been downvoted by a bot during the past few days, report them in the comment section of this post right here by @randohealer: https://steemit.com/abuse/@randohealer/sdl-botnet-downvote-randohealer-report-2018-07-11
