Welcome back steemit family! I wanted to take a moment to share with you our fun times last night. My husband @rakkasan84 invited his good friend Eddy over for some target practice. The weather was beautiful and conditions were just right for shooting. I had the opportunity to practice with my new Beretta Nano 9mm pistol, while the fellows took turns shooting each others rifles. Eddy brought over his Mosin Nagant M44 a WW2 Russian bolt gun and boy oh boy was it fun to watch them shoot it. My husband let Eddy practice with his new pride and joy the Marlin 30-30 lever action rifle, it is a fine rifle indeed!
@rakkasan84 taking his first shots with the Mosin and nailing his target. This is one seriously loud rifle, it means business! The kickback can be quite intense as we seen first hand with Eddy's collar bone catching the brunt on one of his shots. We all had on ear protection to soften the blow, safety first then teamwork!
We didn't catch any photos of my Nano practice, one thing I have learned in my recent handling of firearms is that I have some seriously weak wrists and that all it takes is one shot for my adrenaline to kick in and after that it's hard to keep a steady hand. The Nano also has a very long trigger pull which is something I am going to have to get used to. It is easy to care for and small enough to conceal carry in the future. Since I was wearing a dress it was much easier to stand with the Nano than to get down and shoot the rifles. I've already experienced the 30-30 and need to work on that, but I was too intimidated by the Mosin. Thankfully my husband and Eddy are both very knowledgeable and gave me advise as I was practicing.
Here we have Eddy shooting, he did really well too. I'm so happy he was able to come over and hang out with us on our property. We feel very fortunate to be able to shoot at home with good company, he even took the time to clean my Nano for me when we were finished, what a gentleman! Please be sure to check out the video of Eddy shooting his Russian rifle on my husbands YouTube channel rakkasan84
When the guns were all cleaned up, the guys got to have some well deserved beers and started an epic bonfire! I wish we could have snapped some pictures of it. It was the kind of fire baby dragons are made of! We listened to metal while having good conversation. Eventually we turned in, covered in ashes and smelling of cedar smoke, we cleaned up and hit the sheets.
