Robot Type Names - Intro

Have been thinking about some of the different types of robots that are being used and developed.

Robots that resemble people are called Humanoid. What about those that resemble animals - what do we call them?

'oid' like in Humanoid and 'bot' are variations commonly used, and maybe employing these options for every day robot type names will become more common where it is not already used.

In this series we will look at the various types or classes of robot, there technical names, and maybe consider other more simple names to adopt in everyday language.
