@cryptkeeper17 asked me in late January if I had a ticket for @moonbot because sign-ups were happening. I said no and that I would like to try it but didn't have the SBD at that moment. @cryptkeeper17 was nice enough to send off a SBD to signed me up for a @moonbot subscription. It took 3-5 days to get up and running with my subscription because of a glitches that @steemitqa help me through and extended my subscription to make up for the lost time.
Once in the middle of the month I had a post that was missed by the bot when it should have upvoted, I went to the discord server and was helped by @steemitqa to get the vote and put me back on the ship. I think this had to do with a node lag and not really the fault of @moonbot. This is a very nice way to have an immediate boost to my posts.
They have a discord server if you have any problems located here.
Also on the discord server you can type a command to find out when you are eligible for your next upvote.
The way @moonbot works is that you pay a subscription of 2 SBD, and after you get your ticket you get one 0 min upvote everyday on a post you make. These posts must be 24 hours apart. The upvotes for my subscription varied from 0.13 to 0.15, but they were all 0 min votes.
t the time of writing this.
When I got my subscription it was 1 SBD. Now the subscription fee is 2 SBDs. So I will work the math for both.
The votes also varied between 0.13 and 0.15 so we will use 0.14 as an estimate of daily upvote.
For the month I used the service I was closer to 28 days of upvotes @ 0.14 average.
28*0.14=3.92 STU / 2= 1.96 SBD 1.96/4=0.49 STEEM
For my 1 SBD over the course of the month I got back 1.96 SBD and 0.49 STEEM posting almost everyday.
Here is a chart for you to look at hypothetical profits for this bot. Since the price of the @moonbot ticket increased we need to use 2 SBD as our cost. The return is SBD break even for 2 out of 3 vote values and profit on all 3.
0.13 STU upvotes | 0.14 STU upvotes | 0.15 STU upvotes |
---|---|---|
30 days * 0.13 STU = 3.9 STU/month | 30 * 0.14 = 4.2 STU | 30 days * 0.15 = 4.5 |
3.9 STU / 2= 1.95 SBD | 4.2 STU / 2= 2.1 SBD | 4.2 STU / 2= 2.25 SBD |
1.95 STU/ 4= 0.4875 STEEM | 2.1 STU/ 4= 0.525 STEEM | 2.25 STU/ 4= 0.5625 STEEM |
@platforms just posted the rates for the next month in this post and are claiming they will be ~0.22 per upvote. <-- also at that link an explanation of how you can get a free ticket.
0.13 STU upvotes | 0.14 STU upvotes | 0.15 STU upvotes |
---|---|---|
30 days * 0.21 STU = 6.3 STU/month | 30 * 0.22 = 6.6 STU | 30 days * 0.23 = 6.9 |
6.3 STU / 2= 3.15 SBD | 6.6 STU / 2= 3.3 SBD | 6.9 STU / 2= 3.45 SBD |
3.15STU/ 4= 0.7875 STEEM | 3.3 STU/ 4= 0.825 STEEM | 3.45 STU/ 4= 0.8625 STEEM |
These are very favorable if you pay 2 SBD.
Conclusion: If you are a writer/blogger that has daily content ready to go or has lots of ideas and time; this is a good deal for you.
If you only have a little bit of time to devote to steemit this may be an interesting way to get a head-start boost but you will probably loose money over the course of the month.
I found it challenging to have posts ready to go when the moonbot was ready with my upvote.
As a side note of some importance because this is a 0 min service your followers loose a curation spot(you keep 100% at 0 min). Bad for them good for you.
