Today was my first run since Steemfest. Unfortunately I came down with Steemfest flu when I got back and just haven't felt up to running, but I decided I needed to get back out there. It's easy to get out of the habit and I want to maintain my fitness, especially as I'm going skiing this month.
I headed out on my usual Sunday loop with an open mind about whether I'd extend it. I thought I'd see how I feel. As it turned out I felt okay and so didn't do the shorter route. I just about stretched it to 10km and managed that in under an hour. I'm happy enough with that.
As usual I had breakfast when I got home. I've been trying some different milk substitutes. We've used soya milk for years, but there are lots of others. So far I've tried oat and almond, then this week it's hemp! Who knew? Some of these have a distinct flavour, but I'm open to different tastes. The hemo didn't seem to stand out much, but then I also had banana and blueberries in with the cereal. I've hardly had any dairy milk for a few years now. I would find it hard to give up cheese though. I'm just not ready to go full vegan.
