I track most of my runs with Garmin, which auto uploads to Strava, and upload my walking/ running totals via my alt account (@self-track) via actifit.
Weekly running summary:
- Total kilometers this week: 21
- No. of runs: 3
Monday's Run - 12K along the river
Started out early-ish for this one. left @7.00 a.m. and headed out for an out and back along the river Wye. It was great being able to just run this in a regular running shirt at this time of the morning, with no double layer required.
Took it nice and slow, keeping my HR mostly below 150BPM. Gradually gonna build this up to 13, then 14, I'm sure you can figure out the rest of the progression!
Friday's Run: 6K along the seafront in Plymouth
I was working away Monday- Thursday, so had the chance to get out for this stunning run, just along the sea front and back, with a few sprints at the end on top of Plymouth Hoe.
As I'd expected, there were quite a few other runners out too. I would say lucky them being able to do this every day, but I figure I'm actually luckier as I can run in more directions from my front door given the absence of this sea thing.
Saturday's Run: Park Run!
10th place and 1st in my age category - results here.
I'm now able to predict when I'm likely to get a good place result - it's either a Bank Holiday or a bad weather day - yesterday was solid rain and today was windy - so muddy track and head wind on open park land meant a turnout of around 180, on a good day it's 300!
An alternative explanation is that there's a race going on I don't know about on Sunday, which could draw a few people away, especially the 30-50s males.
Still, whatever the reason for the slack turn out, no PB (it never was going to be in those conditions), but I'll take the place.
I particularly enjoyed this one as I saw a bunch of about 5 blokes all go out quite fast and sit about 50 metres in front of me for the first 3K - then some of them cracked and I breezed passed them, very satisfying: my theory is that they didn't take account of the wind, which I did!
Next week's running plans
I'm away in Medway next week, so I'll be back to running around my favourite little Ranscombe circuit, in the evenings after work, maybe a Friday morning run.
Won't be able to do the Parkrun as I'll be laying in following a night out!
