Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.
Ephesians 5:14
What I say to you, I say to all: Watch.
Mark 13:37

Sometimes, waking a sleeping man is doing him a big favor or even saving his life. The sleeper, in effect, loses consciousness of his situation.
A thief can enter his room without him noticing; A fire can break out in your house and block all exits without him noticing it.
Many car accidents are caused by a tired driver's sleep
The Word of God takes the dream as the image of man's unconsciousness regarding his spiritual state.
A sick person, under the effect of a tranquilizer, can lose all sensation of pain and stop worrying about his illness. In the same way, man can get used to living in a kind of somnolence with respect to the present, deceiving himself with illusions about the future, and hiding the great problems of existence: sin, death, the beyond.
Some go through life as sleepwalkers on the edge of a precipice. Our duty is to shout: Wake up, you are in danger of death! Reality is very different from what you are dreaming! If you do not open your eyes now, you will suddenly find yourself in eternity; then he will wake up ... but it will be too late! Go back to Jesus right now.
And we, believers, watch to not fall asleep. It is time to honor and serve our Lord. "Blessed are those servants to whom their master, when he comes, finds watchfulness" (Luke 12:37).
In this last time we are living is not the time to sleep dear brother, if not to watch and be diligent, to be like those prudent virgins, who watched, it is time to take care of our oil, to fan our fire.
