The idea that our universe could be contained within a colossal black hole has recently been widely discussed among scientists. It has been observed that most galaxies tend to rotate in the same direction, which could indicate that we are within a massive, rotating structure, like a black hole, since the universe itself is not supposed to rotate.

A black hole has an event horizon, which is the region from which nothing can escape, not even light. In our universe, there is also a "cosmic horizon" because, due to the accelerated expansion of space-time, there are regions of the universe so distant that light can never reach us. In a black hole, matter collapses into a singularity, a region of infinite density, very reminiscent of the Big Bang, which is also described as a singularity.

If this is so, our universe would not be unique, but rather a kind of bubble within a black hole in a larger universe. This could explain why the fundamental constants of physics seem so fine-tuned for life: if there are infinite universes inside black holes, we only survive in one where the conditions are right.
