It has been a long time since no one in industrialized countries feared that one day they might run out of electricity and have to use candles again but, in recent months, events seem to indicate that we are not far from experiencing power outages, even in the most developed countries.

Curiously, the more developed a country is, the more obsolete its electricity network is, in the US for example it began to be built more than 80 years ago, it must also be borne in mind that in recent years new power generators have been incorporated that work in an unpredictable way like solar, this makes both the design and technology of these networks no longer efficient.
Curiosamente cuanto más desarrollado está un país mas obsoleta está su red eléctrica, en EEUU por ejemplo se empezó a construir hace más de 80 años, además hay que tener en cuenta que en los últimos años se han incorporado nuevos generadores de energía que funcionan de forma impredecible como la solar, esto hace que tanto el diseño como la tecnología de estas redes ya no resulte eficiente.
On the other hand, the power generation model is becoming more and more decentralized and with the most diverse technologies, the coordination of all these factors makes current designs of electrical networks increasingly useless, which contributes to increasing distrust in our capacity so as not to remain in darkness.
Por otra parte el modelo de generación de energía cada vez se vuelve más descentralizado y con las tecnologías más variopintas, la coordinación de todos estos factores hace cada vez más inservibles los diseños actuales de las redes eléctricas lo que contribuye a aumentar la desconfianza en nuestra capacidad para no quedarnos en tinieblas.

The smart grid are electrical networks capable of integrating and monitoring the behavior of all users connected to the network, both generators and consumers, through the use of smart devices to guarantee efficient and continuous distribution, achieving at all times that the generation and the energy demand are equal.
Las "Smart Grid" son redes eléctricas capaces de integrar y monitorizar los comportamientos de todos los usuarios conectados a la red tanto generadores como consumidores, mediante el uso dispositivos inteligentes para poder garantizar una distribución eficiente y continua consiguiendo en todo momento que la generación y la demanda de energía sean iguales.
We would also have to join to this electrical network the management of new energy storage systems that will also have to be coordinated, not only large battery installations but also domestic batteries and even that of stopped vehicles and connected to the network that can used to balance the total energy of the system.
Tendríamos también que unir a esta red eléctrica la gestión de nuevos sistemas de almacenamiento de la energía que también habrá que coordinar, no solo las grandes instalaciones de baterías sino también las baterías doméstica e incluso la de los vehículos parados y conectados a la red que pueden utilizarse para balancear la energía total del sistema.
