The blue moon is the event of the appearance of the second full moon that occurs within the same month. The name of the Blue Moon actually has nothing to do with the colors. Sometimes, the full moon can appear pale reddish.

Is it true that the moon can be blue? The blue moon or blue moon is a term for the second full moon that occurs within the same month. This phenomenon usually occurs every 2.5 - 3 years due to the monthly repayment of the length of 29.5 days while one month in the BC calendar there are 31 days.
Why Its Call Blue Moon
When this phenomenon lasts months does not look blue. Called the blue moon because the second full moon incident (in one month happened 2 full moon) rarely happened.
A real blue moon actually happened in 1992, which was on the December 9, 1992, eclipse of the Moon. A small part of the moon disc during the eclipse was bluish. The other part looks dark, not the usual reddish. The phenomenon is related to the eruption of Mount Pinatubo.
This occurs because of the scattering of the Sun by ozone and the presence of particles larger than the red wavelength (0.7 microns). Such particles can be sourced from volcanic ash eruptions.
Most Phenomenal

The most phenomenal real blue moons occurred during the eruption of Krakatau in 1883. Not only during the eclipse, the Moon also looked bluish every night, either sickle, half, or full moon. The blue moon lasts for years after the eruption.
Krakatau eruption dust is polluting the atmosphere and causing the white light that is usually shown. The moon is blue. Blue Moon also occurs after Mount St. eruption Helen in 1980 and El Chicon Mountain in Mexico in 1983.
There is an article in the 1943 issue of Sky & Telescope magazine that writes articles about extra months in the Christian calendar. Written by Lawrence J. Lafleur. He found a photocopy of the almanac in 1937. In the almanac it says 'blue moon' and an explanation of it.
In the almanac it says, "This is an unfortunate coincidence, especially for priests who prepare for the full moon festival of each month, forced to do twice because there are two full moons in a month, and also number 13 is an unlucky number," such as quoted from SPACE.

"There are seven blue moons on the Lunar calendar every 19 years," the almanac continued, "In the past, almanac makers found many difficulties calculating when Blue Moon happened and this uncertainty created the expression 'once in a blue moon.'"
Blue on Blue Moon does not refer to color, in ancient English 'blue' before the noun means 'traitor'.
Called a 'traitor' because the full moon should come every single month, where the Moon looks big and pale white. Thus, the second full moon is considered a 'traitor'.
The Blue Moon of 2015 takes place on the night of 30 and the dawn of 31 July. The extra full moon will also occur on August 29, September 28, October 27, November 25 and December 25. By 2015, the Blue Month will fall on January 23rd.
Blue Moon Mitos
Carroll Rudy in his email to Space Weather, writes his experience of seeing the blue Moon.
"The blue moon took place on Sunday 24 September 1950. I was a 13-year-old boy living in a remote area in Northwestern Pennsylvania near the town of Corry, USA It was overcast and during the day, the sun suddenly disappeared and darkened just like the middle of the night Father and mother immediately turned on the lights and lanterns I went out to check the cattle and found them back to the cage, the cows and the chickens were asleep I did not hear any birds chirping We did not have a TV at the time but we heard that there forest fires in Canada that cover the sun. "
"People are afraid that this is the end of the world, some think Russia is taking revenge, when the cold war is over, and at night I see the blue moon."
Others Experience
Tom Whiting from Erie Pennsylvania, USA also had the same experience. "At that time I was 5 years old, 1946 was playing with my friends Suddenly the sky was dark and the other children screamed scared, but all I remember is The Real Blue Moon!
Another with Samuel Sievers, from Indiana, USA. He witnessed that the moon was blue in 1954. He and his father were walking down a long, rocky road from southern Indiana to Chicago.
"I see the moon is really blue while the air is so stuffy.I asked why the pale month is suddenly blue? Is that the devil's eye? My father answered wisely the moon looks blue probably because of dust or smoke.
