@aggroed, the founder of Steem Engine and Splinterlands, top Steem witness and PAL driving motor, has released some new juicy info bits about their upcoming plan for ScotTube: a DTube-based video platform out-of-the-box, similar to the nitrous instance (Palnet.io and Splintertalk.io) and TokenBB forum (MonsterBB and NextColonyBB), which are all powered by Steem Engine tokens.
I don't know if it's going to be called SplinterTube, but it sounds cool, doesn't it?
On the Splinterlands Discord, he announced that the Splintertalk (SPT) token, which is already working in Splintertalk.io and MonsterBB, will be used in a special ScotTube instance. That means, we will be able to create special video content particularly for Splinterlands and earn SPT with it. The videos will be stored on the decentralized IPFS, using a DTube-clone platform.
The huge difference to posting the videos directly to DTube, will be the special niche of Splinterlands: You can earn a token that will eventually be useful in the game, by posting about the game and find an audience that is particularly interested in such content. The upvoters will earn 50% from the payouts, as it is the case with SPT, PAL and soon also with STEEM itself. This is already possible via the #spt or #palnet tag when you post to DTube but now people can find the content much easier on this special video platform.
I am very excited about this news, because it will finally allow us to make awesome niche content and get rewarded appropriately. Videos about Splinterlands sounds like something I would both watch and curate as well as create myself. As soon as we know what SPT will be used for in the game, we know more about how this token will develop but the direction is already very promising.
It also means, that everyone else can now create their own ScotTube instance for yet another niche of their own. This has a huge potential and will take a big role on further tokenization and more abundance for us all.
