How do we know links on sites are safe?

You can’t know just from seeing it on most sites but you could check on a site like this:

http://www.avgthreatlabs.com/en-ww/website-safety-reports/

Or VirusTotal

Maybe in the future sites will pre-check links to make sure they aren’t dangerous.
