Do you it is a sin to pity yourself or others? Most people can't tell because it seems to appear in the way of love or care but it is not.
Unlike most people who loves to enjoy other people grovel on their problems especially from friends and family, i for once do not enjoy such kind of sympathetic feelings. My say in this matter is one should only fix other people's problem if they can but not just come saying am sorry..what are you sorry for if i may ask? Are you the cause of my problem? Do you come to help me or not? Or do you just enjoy love seeing me in this predicament and claim you disapprove of my present situation?. I do not want your thoughts in this matter but just your assistance excluding pity. You can help me by not crying in front of me, feeling sorry for me but rather stay the same friendly, or funny douche of a person you have always been. #fact is that do you know laughter cures the body system by fasting all the healing process in the body?, It is true..so bring joy not pity even if when you love the person that is sick or dying and you can't bare the sight of it.
In scenarios where many of us get sick or are facing inescapable death at the hospital, it is true they can't just help the idea of dying alone and most of them like people to come pitying on them continuously on the sick bed and love to enjoy hearing confident and assuring words from multiple incoming visitors saying stuffs like "you will get better dear", "do not give up hopes yet", "nothing is gonna happen to you" and so on even when you know very much there is a high chance it will. All this kind of talk will continue derailing the patient and giving them restless mind which affects their sleep and prohibit proper rest for the body to heal itself if it can. My advice is make jokes, inform them on new update they had missed on their life and make interesting gist to the patient or person in need of your assistance or attention, you might as well shout at him/her to get on their feet rather than spoon feeding them always especially when nothing is critically wrong. All this tough love will do wonders if you acted on it rather than speak softly and in a pity mannerism and pamper ways.
I could make an example of the rough time i had at the sick bed, i had to cut all contacts with my pals although when they knew already i accepted their get well soon friendly message and talks of encouragement to get out of there soon and join them in merriment. I would tell most of them not to bother to come visit me because i can be someone of a douche when i see them come visiting in a situation I don't like to be seen at the hospital, cases like seeing me crying like a punk b**ch when being given needle treatments LOL. Or feeling tin and groggy and all gross like. I know most of them might mean well wanting to see me but i do not like to be seen and judged as a weak person even when we all are. I once shouted at my girl friend for disobeying me without cause to effect of how she felt at the time of hearing i was sick and also couldn't stand not taking care or seeing me all at once. Yes I did apologise later, and she sort to know the person i am since then, that i so much dislike pity and sympathy from anyone even my own siblings, although it means well but it doesn't help when it make you think negatively of the situation you are in and the better situation they are in.
Anyways what I prefer much is you can throw a party if I get discharged or celebrate in anyway you like to please me but do not pity me is what i would say.

Like i and my friends always says, no one loves the hospital or the idea of staying a moment there but we can't help but to find ourselves there often because our body fails us time to time but what you should be doing is the opposite of self pity when you ever find yourself in one but rather joyous or angry to better heal you.
