For new website following things to watch

· Website content and layout
· Website keywords
· Use of proper Heading tags, images alt attributes
· Submit robot.txt file
· Submit sitemap
· Adjust markup: microformats.org in structured data

· No much use of java script , to decrease page load time
· Page load time are very important
Need to know what kind of url are good or bad
No use of Underscore (_) or these types of other symbols not good in url, these url considered as bad url
Search engines not like that kinds of urls.
Not use extension at the end of url here I give you an example of url who have extension at the end
www.localstoreonline.com/Welcome.aspx, aspx is an extension of file this kind of url considered as an bad url,
Keep url shorter its good.
