A CARD IN THE POST
It seems that a card has come in the post, Holmes.
What of the postmark, Watson?
The postmark says Singapore.
And what does it of smell Watson?
It smells to me of midnight Holmes.
Is it heavy, anything like the last one that blew up in our faces?
Not at all, it is as light as a feather.
Are there any other clues?
It is signed: be there or else.
“Well that’s a little bit radical.”
Is it the book thief what sent this?
No it was not, it was someone else.
But who, Holmes?
Let me think while I play my violin.
Really, Holmes.
Watson! Bring me the diary.
Coming right up…
Listen, I can hear something coming from the broken-up disturbances.
What disturbances?
The ones on the wireless.
What can you hear?
I can hear the sound of coffee percolating.
Anything else?
Well, now that you mention it, I can hear the sound of the leaves falling.
What do they say, Holmes?
They say: we wish we’d had time for one more coffee.
Those crazy leaves.
And now I really must think, Watson.
Are you having one of your turns again Holmes?
No I am not.
Maybe I should fix you a hot cocoa.

WHERE DO WE BEGIN
It's rather maddening how we all have answers that we play every day to ourselves and everyone else. I would hear the other side now, the B side, for I'm tired of the madness. Let the healing begin.

It’s funny how the diamond ring express is now only a distant memory.
Well, one foot left and one foot right and here we go Holmes.

You have to start from the point of no return otherwise you may not get anywhere Holmes.

I’m so glad that I’m retired now Watson.

Is that a loud snoring I hear coming over the wireless waves, Watson?
Wireless waves, did you say wireless waves, Holmes?
Yes, wireless waves.

I’m sure it is Watson.
Holmes, as is usual I have no idea what you’re going on about.
So, what do you think?
Well, remember those radishes we had for breakfast, the ones with the turned up toes?

HIS ACHING BONES
Radio broadcast: +++I love the rain...I was born in a dark tempest in September when the moon was full...and as the storm surged I came to be...I love the rain...what else is there after that?

Yes you can bring the car around, we’re off to the beach.
The beach Holmes?
Yes, why not? I shall go paddling in the waves and maybe the salt water and the hot heat of the sun will ease my pains.
But Holmes, it’s winter.
You don’t say.
You belong in a good hot bath.
I don’t belong anywhere these days.
But you must belong somewhere, surely.
If I belong to anything then it is to the circles that keep repeating and to the wind that blows me around in them.
So you belong to the wind then?
I am from the ocean, and one day I must go back there; but until then I am a tourist, sightseeing.
I shall run a hot bath for you?
Yes, thank you, that would be nice.
And I’ll turn the overhead shower on too, so it will rain for you.
You’re so kind.
And while you’re at it it’s time to wash your pants.
But it’s only November Watson.
Never mind what month is it, hand them over.
