As far as mythical creatures go, mermaids are low on my list of favorites. If we're talking sea creatures (fake ones), I'd have to say the kraken is my fave! In fact, I'd bet a kraken could eat a whole pod of mermaids any day and twice on Sunday xD

My favorite mythical beast is the Chupacabra though! The legend of those things is great!

But let's get back to the subject at hand, mermaids. I was browsing the silver sites last night, feeding my case of stackitis, when I came across this.

I do love the depiction of a ship on a silver coin, not as much as our two biggest scallywags, @kerrislravenhill & @silverd510, but those old tall ships sure get the imagination flowing.

This coin has two such ships, and it depicts the last mermaid, which I find hilarious.

But wait, the reverse of this coin is where the true awesomeness is held, but just so you can't sneak a peek before reading this.....
