I woke up this morning and found a text from a friend in Washington saying she had tickets to see Primus and Coheed & Cambria in Spokane tomorrow (which is now today), her friend canceled at the last minute and would I like to go?
Uhhh, yes please!
But before I could say yes I had to figure out if I could really swing it. Spokane is a four hour drive from my house, so I'd need a place to stay after the show. She lives 2.5 hours away in the opposite direction so that's not an option.
First I checked some Washington state parks and other campgrounds in the area, but most that was booked. I looked at hotels but damn $150 seemed to be the minimum at any place that wasn't a murder-hotel, like the one in the movie, Vacancy.
I was starting to get discouraged and figured I'd have to pass but then I happened on a bed & breakfast that was $70 for the night.
I checked cked out the neighborhood and it looked fine so I booked the room, had some breakfast and got outta town.
Did the four hour drive without stops and just arrived. This neighborhood is crazy, the streets are huge, so are the yards and houses. Let's see if I can get a good snap. I'm currently in my car as check in is not for 15 more minutes.
This is my place for the night👇
Here's the beginning of my drive also ng the Columbia River.
I brought along this cool copper bar to drop at the concert.
I just love leaving copper around for folks to find. I really wonder what they say and think when they find it.
This bar is a copy of the movie poster for the 1927 German science fiction movie, Metropolis.
Well, it's time for me to go check in to my room then hit the town. Hope I'm winning ALL the silver fireworks n the monster raffle!
