Hi Friends,
A long time ago, like back in the day when Socrates was bare-footing it through the streets of Athens, there was apparently a place of wisdom atop a hill. Fabled as the Oracle at Delphi, it was reputedly a fountain surrounded by columns with a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape. And it was here that one could let their eyes open up and see for miles and miles and miles, with the appropriate intellectual analogy being that one could open up their mind and expand its scope for miles and miles and miles. A decent enough metaphor just by itself. However, there was also apparently an inscription carved into a horizontal stone block, supported by aforementioned columns, which read:
Know Thyself
And from this one small, yet deceptively penetrating phrase, one could argue that many branches of modern thought have emerged. I would argue that it has shaped the discourse down the millennia in fields such as: philosophy of mind, cognitive science, psychology, existentialism, creative writing, and many others besides. O how I wish that many “social justice warriors” were more keen to understand what, or more accurately, whom they are actually fighting for…
But I digress.
Personally, I have always been enamoured by the story of: the Oracle at Delphi, and equally captivated by the simple phrase: Know Thyself. And today I am here to prove it!
In my last couple posts I have shown off some new silver while in the midst of thinking I might sell some off to get an even better position in the crypto market. And Damn if I haven’t started the process. Apparently, and to some degree, I actually do know myself — ‘cause today I started to loot my own pile! I rifled through my “kitty box” (this is the one I use for new stuff and for prezzies and for keeping a few ozers within quick reach — because: Stackitus). Anyhoo, it’s a sweet little pirates chest that was gifted to me by a lone Raven who alighted aboard the Ingot one sunrise long ago.
So first I plundered this box, and then moved onto a second, larger stash. This particular vessel was handbuilt by none other than our own D510. I tell you, when that mofo gets some wood in his hands he really has some moves! 😳😲😜😂🤣🤣🤣 Check out the Master … cough cough snicker… builder:
I won’t show the 36 ounces I pulled out ‘cause, reasons. But I will show a few of the pieces that made the cut — the Winners! (As it were). These ones will be harder to divest from, if I ever do, but for right now they are safe in the stack.
Going forward I am going to be a lot pickier with my accumulation practices. And can hardly wait to show off some more fresh looty tooty.
Cheers! from @thedamus
