Just in time for Diwali, one of India’s most important festivals, Microsoft announced that they are bringing Group Video Calling to Skype Lite users in India. Similar to the Group Video Calling feature which we already enjoy on Skype app, Group Video Calling on Skype Lite will also allow anyone to join the group video or audio call on Skype Lite for free.
After starting the group video or audio call, users can also share the call link with others through WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or SMS. The best part is that the invited guests need not have a Skype an account. They can join the group call right away by providing a name and the guest account will be valid for 24 hours.
In addition to the group video calling feature, Microsoft is bringing its AI chatbot Ruuh to Skype Lite and all other Skype products in India. Microsoft has also released a new collection of Diwali themed emoticons on all Skype apps in India.
