Synergy works in mysterious ways and yesterday was no exception.

I was on Twitter dreaming as I do most days, and i tweeted out into the universe:

The tie-wearing crypto events need to die. When will there be a crypto party at Burning Man?

I received a very mysterious and wonderful reply from the supporters of Decentralized Dance Party, and I quickly realized that my dreams had come true. Here’s their Twitter link: https://twitter.com/ddpftw?lang=en

There is a crypto party at Burning Man and it’s called Decentralized Dance Party.

A quick trip to their website, and I am in heaven. I feel tremendous synergy with the leaders of DDP, as I feel that @slothicorn has the same goals in mind: freedom from conventions, purely decentralized, and embracing a kind of lunatic style that cannot be contained. It was at this moment, I realized that the giant slothicorn that I’m building will need to go to Burning Man 2018, because the theme this year is the robot.

If you have never heard of Decentralized Dance Party, you’re really missing out. Here it is:

Personally, I think an entire group of Steemians should all converge this year at Burning Man, since it sounds like the crypto world and Burning Man world are colliding in 2018. If you’re the organizing type (I’m not), please let this be your spark. I would love to meet all your Steemians in a crypto party (as opposed to a stuffy convention hall).

Let this be our goal, who is in?

At Slothicorn HQ, we are looking for a few brave souls who are wanting to go to Burning Man this year. Here’s the info about Burning Man: https://burningman.org/

Also, we are looking for artists to construct large Slothicorns for release in the spring.

If you’re an artist who wants to build your own Slothicorn and become a part of Slothicorn history, let us know! We are looking for 2-3 more artists. Myself and @alexandravart are committing ourselves to creating a slothicorn sculpture. The sculptures can be unique, and up the artist, there are no restrictions on this. Only thing that must be attached is the QR code. A guide will be released soon that outlines the game, and how it will work. The website is being developed now as well.

Each slothicorn will have a QR code on their bellies, which will lead into an Augmented Reality game. We are building the game right now, so if this is your thing, join us in Discord in the Gamecore channel. Here’s the Discord invite code: https://discordapp.com/invite/GWQHDdR

There are new things happening at Slothicorn: @alexandravart is forming a general Creative Commons art group within slothicorn. As it grows, it might need its own space. For now, there’s a channel called General Creative Commons Art and she’s building out that community. This is in response to the artists who want to do other kinds of art besides crypto art. We are still focused on crypto art, crypto gaming and other forms that mix art and technology. I see Slothicorn as a kind of incubator for wild and strange crypto and art projects that can transform the world.
