SmartNodeMonitor is Back!
The SmartCash blockchain successfully changed to the new node payment system. The new rules are in place since we passed block 545005 and the node payments are more frequent but less per payout from now on. At this time you can expect roughly 26 SMART per node payout. The overall amount each node receives hasn't changed though. In the long run you can expect the same amounts as before the update... just paid out more frequent in smaller pieces.
Longer downtime grace period / removed timeout notifications
As you are probably all aware of, the bot had a timeout notification feature in the past which let you literally start to panic once your node could not be discovered by the bot for longer than 30 minutes. This feature has been removed now! Since we increased the grace periods for the downtime of a SmartNode there is no need to interact as fast as before. The new timings are as followed:
If your node did not talk to the network for longer than 2 hours it's state changes to EXPIRED. In this state your node is not longer eligible for payouts but it is not definitely out of the payment queue. It can recover..
Another 2 hours later, if your node did not talk to the network for 4 hours it's state changes to NEW_START_REQUIRED. This state is irreversible and requires a Start alias
from your desktop wallet to get your node running again.
As long as your node is in the EXPIRED state it is able to recover the ENABLED state without the need of a Start alias
from the desktop wallet.
So.. if you ever get an EXPIRED message..from now on you have 2 hours of time to check your VPS and get the smartcashd
daemon running again. Once this is done and the node is synced with the network your node will change it's state back to ENABLED.
