Each weekend, we try to take our boy, Robbie, to the park. It is natural for boys to want to run around outside. I live in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
It is the second day of Ramadan. We knew beforehand that it could affect our trip When we arrived at the park just before 6pm, it was closed. We would have to wait until 8pm before it opens.
We were more keen than normal for Robbie be able to play outside. Due to the humidity and sandstorms, we hadn't been able to take him out recently.
Luckily, we can go to Al Majaz waterfront and take in a sunset before going for food.
We can wait for a canon to tell us that the fast can be broken. Even if you are not a practicing Muslim, it is important to respect local cultures and values.
By the time we finished our food, it was nearly time for the park to open. We had a couple of hours for Robbie to go on the swings and play structures.
A nice family evening outside in the end. I will take him to the university area a couple of times over the next week. It is not far. Until then, I hope you enjoyed these pictures.
