Introduction
The mobile era is now upon us, an average individual now looks at his/her phone at an average of 80times a day, mobile apps and games are now the order of the day, more especially the social networks, now crossing over 2.5billion regular users.
According to some recent researches, 50% of internet traffic came from mobile apps especially the social networks, despite all these huge numbers and ratios no one can actually come out boastfully claiming he/she is being paid daily by the owners of these social networks for creating contents, only the influencers end up making money from these social networks with marketing ideas which they are paid by other users.
For quite some time now the centralized social networks system has been faced by threats from the decentralized social networks (dapps) which spawned up recently from early 2017.
Although the decentralized apps have been faced by some flaws of corruption and favouritism cause of its proof of voting nature, despite being promising and filled with incentives, the fun attached to social media is yet to be moved to the decentralized apps which make most lack use case.
In today's blog post i'll be writing on Snax.one a decentralized social media overlay that still gives users control over there social network account and still earn, without mission out on all the experience.
snax.one
Snax is a decentralized social media overlay, a blockchain based media overlay that brings value to all form of the social network, ranging from Twitter, insta, facebook or any dapp, users can earn SNAX token as a reward based on reactions and engagements generated by the user's post, in addiction snax provides a peer-to-peer platform where funds can be transferred between users by just simply inputting username and this can be carried out with zero transaction fee.
Snax is built in a way that it integrates with multiple apps and dapps, in the sense that a new user doesn't need to create a new account in order to make use of snax, a single snax account can be used to monetize over 3 different social network accounts; with this feature as a dapp user, there is no need for the proof of voting in order to earn, eliminating favouritism from the platform leaving only engagement to speak for itself.
Snax token economy
Snax severs as a utility token for the community, firstly;
- with the aim of serving as rewards to the user for there activeness and post engagements,
- serving as staking means for snax users to vote for block producers,
- serving as a means of exchange between users when goods or services have been offered.
The transaction between Snax users on the snax blockchain is free but limited when it comes to how many transactions performed daily based on how many tokens the snax user stakes.
A snax user can transfer tokens to any social media username and the token will be sent to the recipient without actually having an account on the snax account but will need one when it comes to claiming of the sent token.

Apart from being a social network overlay platform for crossbonding system, developers can actually build mobile games and apps on the snax blockchain which put them at a much greater advantage of having direct asses to there social transaction.
The snax blockchain makes uses of DPOS consensus like most social blockchains;
- the use of username instead of addresses,
- account registration,
- RAM staking,
- interactive UI/UX and so on.
snax chain focuses on simplifying the user interface of its blockchain making it easy for anyone to understand.
Account creation on the snax DPOS is totally free, unlike most DPOS that requires staking of RAM and CPU right after the registration, in snax RAM, CPU, NET is provided on the Snax expense.
Getting started with snax
Getting started with snax was a self-explanatory one for me but I'll try to simplify the whole process here
first open your browser(chrome recommended) and go to
- click on the sign up on the top right corner
A pop up appears asking you to install snax chrome extension, click get the "get from chrome web store button"
it'll redirect you to add the snax.one extension for chrome, if there is no redirection you can download the extension manually from here https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/snaxone/dolcmddbbplempeembpecnpllnbgjlal
- Install the web wallet and register
- make sure your rephrase is well backed up before pasting
- pick a username (six character minimum)
- Then set up a password for the wallet
After all, has been done, the website automatically refreshes showing the balance of the newly created account.
linking social accouts[bounty reward]
Snax has made linking of social accounts as enticing as ever given the fact you get rewarded with 50SNAX for linking each social account, currently you can only link two social media accounts to snax:
- steemit
Sadly i forgot to screenshot the process but i'll explain below on how to link both
- for twitter
All you just need to do is to click connect to Twitter and a pop up will appear.
authorize all permission that pops up, it automatically sents a tweet through your account, once it is done it automatically refreshes and your account gets credited with 50 SNAX
- for steem
Click connect to steemit
copy the words and tags displayed and publish a new steemit post (example below)
Once this is done, the page automatically refreshes and rewards you.
Then snax is ready for use.
CONCLUSION
First of all, I'll like to give a huge kudos to the founders and everyone behind the snax idea, the ecosystem in making here will very huge within the next 2-3 years depend on how fast blockchain gains massive adoption.
Building a DPOS platform for cross-bonding platforms from the centralize to decentralize ecosystem accompanied with a tokenized economy creates room for us seeing the next stable coin depending on what the team wants.
