Sneak peek...

I've been quietly working on ways to enhance the user experience of Soccer Sweepstakes. I'm not a developer by any means (so the learning curve has been steep!) however I'm creating a web app to enable contestants to view their entries, results and leaderboards.

You can go through and review results and entries for this season, as well as payouts.

Eventually I'm looking to enhance the site further to enable contestants to submit entries, challenge each other, set up mini leagues... as well as automate payments so more than just the top 3 can share in the rewards.

Round-up

Game 1: France v Italy - 3 - 1

A World Cup is not quite the same without the involvement of the Italians in my view. However France will be there though and they kicked off their World Cup warm-up in style with a convincing win over Italy. Mbappe, Griezmann and Dembele are a match for any frontline in the World.

Game 2: Austria v Germany - 2 - 1

Despite Arsenal's Mezut Ozil, it was Austria who got the better of this one after a late kick-off. Austria who already beat World Cup hosts earlier in the week are lookng in good form ahead of the tournament. Martin Hinteregger scoring the pick of a goal with a sensational volley from an Alba corner. It was Austria's first win against Germany in 32 years.

Game 3: England v Nigeria - 2 - 1

After a dominate first half and racing out to a 2-0 lead. Nigeria came back into it in the second half. Both sides can take postives from this one.

Game 4: Sweden v Denmark - 0 - 0

Sweden and Denmark played out a draw in a game of limited chances.

Game 5: Belgium v Portugal - 0 - 0

We can be forgiven for expectng more from this game.

First goal scored after: 7 minutes

Gary Cahill's bullet header gave England the lead against the Super Eagles.
