The art of the follow up.
-I don't think most humans have an issue building a connection.

And the reason for this is because we do not maximize the art of following up.
But if you think about it, that's the most important part.
Imagine you go to a club & end up getting a cute girl's number. However, after getting the number, you decide to never contact her, then what was the point?
'Uh...'
Exactly, it's the same concept in the social world.
Social Bonds Formation 101:
Break: enter their world by introducing yourself.
Spark: get to know each other.
Maintain: exchange contact info for follow ups.
Strengthen: follow up.
In order to solidify a social bond, you need to be able to go from 1-4. Just stopping at 1-3 will have you wasting a lot of time. It's like blowing in a balloon & not tying the knot!
There has to be 1 person who takes the responsibility for the follow up process. You may have been in the clear for a while because the person you were talking to decided to reach out.
But this is a very passive approach to take.
Rather, be active. Make sure you make it a priority to follow up after you meet someone new. Just a quick 'hey it was nice meeting you.'
Because remember, my friend, humans are creatures that overthink. Especially in today's world where information is abundant. If you actually want to build a bond with someone, and not be forgotten, then you need to make your presence felt!
