Hey hey hey!
My son and I have been learning more and more about NFC automation! After my son figured out my NFC Silicon Band will unlock my phone I decided to encourage my son with his tech curiosity!
I have a #SmartWatch (Bluetooth connect & mirror). I want to auto(connect) with my phone & watch. I don't want to build or buy another app to do the automating (like Tasker). My son suggested NFC, I thought about it and we looked up how to do Bluetooth connections through #Google.
We found out how to code it the long way but then after about 5 or 6 pages of almost the same code sets, we found another quick trick...my #NFC write-to-app can handle connections! A quick high 5 than we ran the app--anticipation grew--we clicked write new Dataset and looked for it, yup "BLE2.0"!!!!! I looked at my son, and I was like give it a shot. He hit it, inserted the info, saved the device IP & saved to a poster-NFC (aka "sticker NFC"). We tested the sticker and it turned on the Bluetooth & auto-connected to the watch! Success!
Now I want to add, if we re-scan the sticker, it'll turn off the Bluetooth and cause an auto-disconnect with the watch. Still not done, the wrist strap is very thin. I taped the sticker on both sides with packaging tape. Then I super glued the sticker to the inside of my wrist strap. Now my phone can read the NFC under my wrist strap to do all the automation of connecting, disconnecting and even turning on and off my phones Bluetooth!
So we tried the same for Wi-Fi but it doesn't work the same. You have to keep the Wi-Fi on always or have a chip just for turning on & off the Wi-Fi than another chip to connect/disconnect to a certain Wi-Fi. Yeah we was shocked also but I was determined to do something about this.
I set up a sticker chip to turn on and off my Wi-Fi (no auto-connect), than I set up in my Wi-Fi settings to always want to connect to my home Wi-Fi and work Wi-Fi....So now when I scan the Wi-Fi #sticker-NFC chip it turned on my Wi-Fi, than my phone looks for two certain Wi-Fi names and connects. Through Google Settings and my phone's settings I manged to get my phone to not connect to other Wi-Fi signals unless either I connect by hand or is the two.
Now me and my son are looking up and thinking up new #NFC #automations without additional apps beyond, pre-installed and the TagWriter app.
