The wels catfish, also called sheatfish or just wels is one of my favorite fish species.
It’s native to wide areas of central, southern, and eastern Europe, Danube river too. Catfish is the largest fish in Serbian waters.
Catfish fillets on a plate is the way how I like to prepare it the most.
Recipe:
Salt the catfish, then roll it in corn flour.
TIP for tasty Corn flour: mix the corn flour with a little more salt and red paprika. It is best to leave it like that for about 10 minutes.
For those who don't know, a talandara is actually a plate (which is used for crushing the soil, i.e. in agricultural work) that has legs and handles welded on.
Prepare the plate. Start the fire, pour a lot of fat or oil and roast the catfish.
As a side dish with roasted fish, we like to prepare french fries and a seasonal salad.
