Well, say what you want about Trump and his crew — blame them for chaos, drama, and maybe a few sleepless nights — but being boring? Never. These folks stay creative.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna just referred Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell to the DOJ for perjury — yup, lying under oath — because apparently, “simple renovations” at the Fed’s D.C. palace magically ballooned from $1.9 billion to $2.5 billion. And by “simple,” we mean private VIP dining rooms, marble everything, rooftop gardens, and water features. Because clearly, the Fed can’t print money unless it's from inside a luxury spa.
Powell allegedly told Congress those upgrades didn’t exist. Documents say otherwise. Luna’s basically calling it a high-end cover-up. Powell, of course, denies it all and has asked for a formal review — probably in that same rooftop garden he says isn’t there.
And let’s not pretend this is just a right vs. left thing. This is just classic government — wasting taxpayer dollars with champagne taste and construction delays. Red tie, blue tie — doesn’t matter. We get the bill either way.
But hey, at least we know where our taxes are going: not to better schools, roads, or healthcare… but to custom elevator buttons and premium marble finishes. Good times.
