The Tea Party - Correspondences
This whole album is pretty much amazing, but something about Jeff Martin's vocals on this song really get to me. It's very raw, and it builds gradually. By the end, he's got me believing it does really tear him apart.
I had aJeff Martin sighting once at a club in Toronto. I remember him being quite an imposing figure. I'm not sure if he's very tall, or was wearing high boots, or he's just grown in my memory with the passage of time, but he definitely made an impression.
And this song is the same. Of all the songs on the excellent "Edges of Twilight" album, this one stuck with me the most.
