This is the question that has plagued me today!
I have hurt a fellow Steemian, and honestly, I am trying to figure out how to right this wrong. We operate on a digital platform, but we interact with human beings. Although Steemit views our words as a long list of 1's and 0's, our readers can receive both life and death from what we say (or don't say). As a result, we must be careful to speak wisely. We must be careful to value those who are apart of this community with us.
Most of us will never meet the people who read our posts. Most of us will never have a face-to-face conversation. On Steemit we do not have the benefit of communicating with body language or voice inflections. We do not have the benefit of immediately asking clarifying questions. We may not have a second chance to make a first impression.
We must be careful about we include or do not include in our posts.
To those of you I have wronged
I hope that I have asked for forgiveness for mistreating you or misrepresenting you. I must admit that typing an apology seems too cold and somewhat insincere, but I hope that in some way I can communicate what is happening in my heart.
Although I never want to hurt anyone (even unintentionally) and while I try my best to not repeat my mistakes, unfortunately, I can not promise that I will not fail again. My nature is broken, but I will do my best to put the broken pieces back together again.
My promise is
- to pursue reconciliation
- to make amends
- to ask for forgiveness.
Thanks for listening to me ramble. It is time to go to bed!
