Hello, Hivepets friends! I hope you and your pets are healthy and happy!
I love sharing stories and photos of my dogs with you. As I mentioned before, we have a new member of the dog family, Nikki, a two-month-old puppy who is very restless, like all puppies. It's a very energetic and absorbing stage. The first few months of a puppy's life are very important for their future emotional, social, and mental development, and during this time, the role of the mother dog is irreplaceable. The mother teaches the puppy bite control. If it bites too hard, she sets limits and corrects it, so they learn what many poorly socialized adult dogs did not learn in that early stage. Her role is also to teach them respect and how to interact with other dogs. The puppy is not only nursing but also observing a lot, copying, and imitating its mother's behavior in order to learn its natural way of being.
In interactions within the litter, the mother allows or disallows certain behaviors and guides them with special natural authority.
Many puppies are separated from their mothers before they are two months old, causing them to suffer from separation anxiety, mistrust, and insecurity, as they did not have that important stage of security with their mother. Separating them from their mothers not only deprives them of important milk, but also shakes their emotional foundation, which is extremely important for a healthy, balanced dog with a good temperament.
La llegada de Nikki
Nikki's arrival
Nikki and Liah in a fleeting moment when everything was peaceful 😅
A friend gave Nikki to my sister, knowing that she loves dogs. She had many puppies and couldn't handle all the work alone, so she decided to give them to people where she knew they would have a good home. At first, we happily accepted; we love puppies! But anyway, we decided to give Nikki to a cousin because, apart from the issue with my dog Liah, it was also going to be difficult for us to keep another dog at home since there is an economic crisis in my country and we are making an effort to give them a nice life.
Nikki wasn't given to us until he was a month and a half old, and we know that wasn't the right thing to do. That's why he's so rebellious, bites absolutely everything and destroys it. I know puppies go through a playful stage, but he goes beyond just playing around. He's a happy puppy, but he's a disaster.
Nikki came to visit this weekend. Cata is the only one who plays with him and is very patient with him.
