Hola amigos espero que estén muy bien, hace un par de días vi la publicación de @youngirl donde hablaba de un pequeño concurso que consiste en que los participantes creen su propio challenge, me gusto bastante la idea porque de inmediato recordé que desde hace tiempo he querido hacer unos huevos benedictinos y cuando leí esta ubicación pensé que sería bueno hacer un challenge sobre esto, esta receta es conocida internacionalmente por su delicioso sabor y en muchos restaurantes forman parte de la carta.
Este plato, como la mayoría de recetas, no tiene un origen confirmado, pero la versión que más me gusta es la de Lemuel Benedict, quien cuando iba a un lujoso hotel en Nueva York pedía se le sirvieran pan tostado, tocineta, huevos escalfados y salsa holandesa, el chef debido a este continuo pedido peculiar, nombro el plato en su nombre "Huevos Benedict ".

Para realizar este challenge, se necesitaran los siguientes ingredientes (para dos personas): 6 huevos (4 para escalfar y 2 para la salsa), mantequilla 200 g, pan 4 unidades (la receta original es con muffins), proteína al gusto (varía según la versión puede ser tocineta, jamón serrano, jamón brochure, en fin el que más les guste yo utilizare jamón ahumado y tocineta), zumo de limón 1 cucharada, vinagre 10% de la cantidad de agua que se use para escalfar los huevos, sal y pimienta al gusto.

Comenzamos haciendo la salsa holandesa, justamente esta no me quedo perfecta, yo utilicé la manera rápida que implica licuar todo, Primero se clarifica la mantequilla, mientas se enfría un poco se ponen dos yemas a la licuadora, se agrega una cucharada de zumo de limón, sal y pimienta al gusto, y se licua hasta que se vea que las yemas cambiaron a un color más claro y se vuelven más espesas.
Luego de eso, mientras se sigue licuando, se va incluyendo la mantequilla clarificada hasta que se forme una salsa homogénea y espesa, en este momento se prueba la sazón para ver si es necesario agregar más sal o más limón, esto es a gusto de cada quien.
Por otra parte, se hacen los huevos escalfados, se tosta el pan y se cocina o calienta un poco la proteína que se desee agregar.
Por último, se arma el plato, esto consiste en poner el pan, y sobre él los demás ingredientes en el siguiente orden: proteína, huevo escalfado, salsa holandesa, y se puede aromatizar con cebollín o cilantro.
