Today in the morning when I was having breakfast with my partner, our topic of conversation was about values. How our current society, or rather in some families instead of forming values in children what they do is rather create anti-values.
I tell them that the next day I went out to do some shopping and I heard a lady tell a child in a severe way that she did not tell her father that she had eaten food, she said she was very hungry and needed to eat, this of course she called Much my attention, because the child moved his head saying that was a lie that, and the lady continued to insist until the child reluctantly agreed to the threat that this woman.
Seeing this I intervened telling that lady please do not inculcate the child to lie, receiving by answering that "that's not my problem", shouting several coarse words, so I opted to continue my way and reflect on what happened.
Where our society goes, I often ask myself, will this situation that my country is currently living be leading us to be human beings without any training in values, where the elderly force the little ones to get what they want to? coast of whatever and whoever.
I remember when I was a kid and we went out to play with my friends in the neighborhood, my mother told me: "nothing to ask in the street, no water, no food, so they do not call you lambucio (term used in Venezuela to refer to a person who asks too much) "; and woe to the one who came to the house saying that he had eaten at so-and-so's house, because it was a safe beating. With all this what I want to say is that the upbringing we received was to have dignity, shame and a lot of care when it comes to asking for something in the street, lest they ask you for "something else" in exchange.
And just as in this situation, there are many similar ones that are being lost, such as saying good morning or good afternoon, asking permission, thanking, respecting the elderly; the intolerance that reaches a million, the generosity that shines by its absence and even the racial hatred among many people for thinking differently.
Hopefully and this message could reach these people using their power, whether parents, guardians, authorities, who force their peers to get things "easy way", to reflect on their actions because as it says this saying "raise ravens and they will take your eyes out", which means what you are creating today can be reversed and you can be the victim of this monster that you are creating in this present.
