Ok Splinterfriends,
I may be too late to the party with this but seeing as how Conflicts have not kicked off yet I want to throw my two cents into the ring...
A few weeks ago... I think? I dunno time has been flying by... and standing still at the same time...
There was a discussion with some of mi amigos... and basically @olebulls @cav0 @pero82 @sharkmonsters @horsebox myself and a few others were like "Bruh... Conflicts... and stuff"...
Anyways... Cav0 had a cool idea... or maybe it was Horsebox or Olebulls - I dunno... it sparked a discussion and then all of us had varying ideas on how best to implement them...
I didn't think anything of it but it seems Conflicts aren't fully fleshed out yet and I want to at least put this out there so @davemccoy @clayboyn @yabapmatt and the others can see it and:
A. Use it
B. Strip some features from it
C. Toss it entirely
Do I like the idea - of course I do, it was my interpretation of how best to implement the original suggestion in our chat...
I find it hilarious when people are like "OH, you just think you're always right"... to which I then reply... "Well... yeah... I mean, do YOU debate something BELIEVING YOU'RE WRONG?!?!"
Ok... are you ready?? Are you ready for my idea???
First, lets identify something: Why am I even writing about this??
The reason is simple: Rebellion used a novel method to generate Airdropped Reward Cards for those who invested in the Rebellion Set...
Conclave Arcana is using the same method... but they tweaked a few things:
- Rebellion Cards can be used at .5 CP Value
- Black Foils are a thing!
- Arcane Packs Guarantee a GF Card (lot more GF in circ)
With these changes, there is a LOT more CP in play for the Conclave Arcana Conflicts than compared to the Rebellion Conflicts... which means we run the risk of overprinting these Airdrop Cards... to mitigate this... I think the @splinterlands Team is still trying to hash out the detail of the Conflicts Mechanics...
There was some chatter in the Discord(s), including the #CardCollectors channel and the Town Hall about it and the fears of Overprinting vs "Shafting the smaller players"...
Ok - now we understand the "Why"... let us understand the "What"!
Since we have a lot more CP in play than before... AND we can use the Rebellion Cards as well... how can we limit the Airdrop Cards... but ALSO allow for the average Player to earn a cool card or three!!
You see... if you've ever spoken with me at length... you'll know how much I love "Freedom" - true freedom...
Not the typical American bullshit of "Freedom... but don't allow them to do that weird stuff I don't like!"
Stake X amount of CP, earn Y amount of chances per hour and receive cards at the end of the month...
Make the first Airdrop Card have a much higher CP requirement than the first Rebellion Airdrop Card
This makes sense... except it totally screws the New Players and the "Little Guys"... Right? I mean lets face it, we all have different investment levels...
Whales, Dolphins, Fish, Minnows - about sums it up. So here's the issue:
My answer is: Give them a CHOICE
Currently, if you stake your cards you get Airdrops based on CP Staked x Time... each Card earned = 1 RF and a chance at it being a GF or BF!!!
What if... you could get a GUARANTEED GF Airdrop... or BF Airdrop?!?
In Rebellion, we had One Wagon and One Airdrop... with a Chance to be GF...
What if in Conflicts we had One Wagon (No Changes)... But THREE Choices for our Airdrops?!?
- Same as before, [CP Req] x Time = Reward Cards Earned + Chance at GF + Tiny Chance at BF!
- Since a Gold Foil Version of something has a 25x CP Multiplier... Make the GF Conflicts require 25x CP to earn 1 Card... but it is Guaranteed GF... and a Small Chance at BF!
Well... since the BF Versions of Cards are 5x the CP of GF Versions... Yup... You guessed it... Make the BF Version cost 5x the CP of the GF! Or something like that... Another great way would be to set the "Guaranteed BF" at the CP of 1 Mage Wagon FULL of Black Foil Legendaries!!
That's 262,500 CP... TIMES FIVE!! That's 1,312,500 CP to get a GUARANTEED BLACK FOIL...
Oh but guess what... The Gold Foil and Black Foil Conflicts... it's a Yes/No Reward!
Did you meet the CP Requirement?
- Yes... You get a Reward!
- No...
This method of Conflicts should allow for the utilization of CP based upon ones Investment and how they best see fit to use it...
Do I want a LOT of Airdrop Cards and chance to gamble at getting some GF and BF versions...
Great!! Buy a ton of Mage Wagons and throw all your CP on it!!
You'll get a BUNCH of RF Cards... maybe some GF and even a shot at a BF!!!
Do you want to max out a GF?? Or stuff ALLLLLLLLLLLL YOUR CARDS onto your Wagon Fleet to earn JUST ONE of the Airdrop Cards... in Black Foil... even though your forgo your shot at Gold Foils and get ZERO Regular FOILS... Ok cool!! That's your CHOICE!
By doing this, I believe the Whales will divert a portion of their CP towards guaranteeing the Chase BF...
Which means less RF and GF get printed... thus ensuring the Value of them and limiting their Production... without compromising the chances of the Minnow to earn a RF Airdrop!
Before you get all crazy and grab the pitchforks and torches... shut the $#%@ up and look at the numbers... THEN you can grab all manner of pleasure dev... I mean Torture Devices and hunt me down...
As of RIGHT NOW... 6/20/2025... there are a TOTAL of 112 Black Foil Legendary AND Black Foil Arcane Legendary Cards from Conclave Arcana including the 11 Gramel and SOMEONE PULLED A BLACK FOIL YABA!!!!
112 x 262,500 = 29,400,000 CP... Do you know how many RF Airdrops that would create???
Well... using these mechanics... you'd get 22 BF Airdrops... But hey... this is scalable math right?????
Ok... Don't want that many BF Airdrops????? DOUBLE THE CP...
Ok... Now we only have 11 BF Airdrops... Want less??? DOUBLE IT AGAIN.
Now we have 5... But of course you'll have the Standard Airdrops... and GF Airdrops... with chances...
But that's the ENTIRE POINT... How many RF/GF chances/cards would someone GIVE UP... to CHASE a GF or Black Foil Guarantee????????
Projected effects:
Whales get BF Airdrops = Whales Happy, supply low
Dolphins must choose GF or GO BIG and get more CA = Dolphins Happy
Minnows can still get RF AND... @mondroid had an AWESOME idea about Carryover AD Points to ensure the Minnows eventually got a Reward!
Bottom Line - in my opinion... everyone wins!!! Why????
Whales get BF!
Dolphins get GF or lots of RF... or GO BIG and chase the BF!
Minnows still earn their RF
Bonus: CP gets soaked up chasing the GF/BF and the RF isn't printed to death, maintaining the value of the RF!!
In this manner, I believe the conflicts can be a win:win:win:win:win... SO MUCH WINNING!!!
Well folks... that's my idea to help keep the upcoming Conflicts Scalable and Fair for every size Player... from the Minnows to the @Vugtis and @bravetofu of Praetoria!
I hope you enjoyed it and as always, I hope it is useful!!
