Hahaha... Just kidding... sort of... but seriously though... the first Survival Mode Season is coming to an end... and what plays out over the next 74 hours or so will be nothing short of extraordinary
If you haven't been paying attention... things have been heating up in Splinterlands... a spicy new mode has launched and I thought I would last a couple seasons before trying it out...
First - the prizes are insane for the higher ranked players... HOLY COW!!!
Here's some of the battles posted in the Splinterlands Discord and on the Leaderboard:
@housewifeftw with a nice 43 $SPS for their win and @bravetofu with an INCREDIBLE 931 $SPS for their latest victory!!
So... what does all this mean... why do I think things are going to devolve into UTTER CHAOS over the next 74 hours??

After you peruse those articles... or not... what you really need to understand is how the Survival Mode COOLDOWN works... here's the synopsis from the official post:
"WIN OR LOSE... every card that is "DEAD" at the END of a battle... will be on COOLDOWN and can't be used in any BATTLE format for the specified "cooldown" period below:"
What that chart doesn't tell you... is the one other "cooldown" condition... you may have guessed it by this point...

My thoughts and strategy for this are probably similar to yours...
With zero ENERGY requirements and cards able to reset the next day... every able bodied Summoner and Monster from 1 BCX on up... will be pressganged into service as "Survival Fodder" immediately following the Ranked Battles for that day...
This is pretty much how I envision the final 24 hours of Survival Mode or so playing out...
So... what consequences have we seen from Survival Mode, Season 1... so far... if any?
Well... I've noticed two things... and it corresponds with the upcoming "Season Rental Proposal Change"...
First - I am actually VERY excited to play Survival Mode!! Like... back in the day, End of Season, gotta rent CP and battle up to earn a bunch of Higher Tier Chests kinda excited!!!!
Second - just like with Land... you can only use SEASON RENTALS for your Survival Battles... and I don't know if many people are aware of that...
I have set aside certain cards for Seasonal Rental and they are earning much more per day than the Daily Rental equivalents... #winning
Third - card prices are starting to percolate, despite Crypto and SPS floundering... I've seen my Collection Value on Peakmonsters nearly DOUBLE in the last two weeks... and that is pretty damn awesome!!
Imagine what will happen when $SPS does start to go up... 👀
Prices are still low on lots of things... we are in a pullback over the broader crypto market... and now would be a great time for New Players to join!!
