This is my favorite lineup in the water splinter, and it works in a lot of rulesets. My win rate with this lineup is better than 90%. Check out the way this plays out.

I'll point out a few things about this battle for consideration:
I'm playing in silver league, and you'll notice that none of my creatures are leveled up. My opponent has their Chaos Legion cards leveled up to max for bronze league. I don't often see a lot of leveled up cards in silver league until I get into the top 1k or 2k ranked players, so I think it's more important to go a little bit wide before going deep. This may change when the modern format is released.
The rules for this match were weak magic with a 99 mana cap. With Kelya as my summoner this team costs 46 mana.
This or a similar team works well with a 99 mana cap and minor variations work with the mana cap down into the 30s.
You'll notice that when Sea Monster gets resurrected it comes back with 3 armor. I put the Wavesmith in back for sneak and opportunity monsters to go after because when it's first to die and resurrect it renews the protect ability for my whole team.
Magic spamming tends to be very popular with high mana caps, so I'll often use Bortus as my summoner. I went with Kelya for the armor here because of the weak magic ruleset.
Because none of my monsters are leveled up this team can be used with any of the water or dragon summoners that work best for your situation. Kelya is great for weak magic because of the armor and great for the blast ruleset for the speed. You can run the whole team with Brighton for earthquake. Alric or Delwyn work great if you want to do the magic spamming.
You'll notice that none of these creatures are available in the starter deck. This whole team has come down significantly in price with the crypto crash and you can buy all 6 of these monsters for just over $30 total.
Let me know your thoughts about this strategy. What are some of your favorite lineups?
Until next time, I'll see you around the game.
