So it's been at least a week since Splinterlands took over the Number 1 Ranked Crypto Game according to the DappRadar. And it's actually been pulling away from the previous leader Alien Worlds too.
But how long can we hold this Number 1 Position?
Well it's clear there's a dark horse in crypto games right now and it's MOBOX: NFT Farmer which has grown 272% in the last day. And seemingly any game with NFT in the title makes it an instant success. [Apparently]
It claims to revolutionize the concept of free to play games and yet appears to be another one of those stake and create games with a unique NFT in every crate. haha
I mean seriously, where's the 'revolutionary' game play in that?

(But don't expect a lot from the roadmap, as it seems a little on the light side for content)
So I'm not thinking Splinterlands has anything to worry about just yet.
There's always hype and speculation around new crypto games and money seemingly pours into these games without any real reason behind it. Although MOBOX is built on the Binance Smart Chain which is probably why it's doing so well.
And yet the poor old, reliable and dependable Hive BlockChain just doesn't get the credit it deserves. Sometimes I wonder if that's holding Splinterlands back.
So why is Splinterlands still number 1?
Well, it's a solid game built on a solid blockchain, and has a very solid RoadMap which we expect to be updated shortly.
I mean in the next 6 months we can expect:-
- Chaos Legions - New Core Set of Cards
- Earning SPS from general play
- Staking on players and earning SPS
- A new mini-set of cards called 'Rift' [TBC]
- And of course the release of Lands
So everyone is pretty bullish about Splinterlands right now!
Contrast that to unknown crypto games that pop up in the night and appear to disappear just as quickly, and it would suggest Splinterlands is a very solid investment right now.
And once the DEV team expands, it should be full steam ahead with this roadmap.
