Good Day!
This article will be tackling about my experiences as I played the game for the first time.
[Day 1]
Splinterlands is my very first NFT Game, the whole thing was still new to me but it was fairly cheap to start off in Splinterlands as opposed to other NFT Games so I decided to give it a try.
I hopped in and after finishing the tutorial I paid $10 for the Spellbook to be able to officially start playing the game.
After starting, The first thing I try to do is win games and earn DEC as a normal player would.
To my surprise however, it was not a cakewalk and it was actually pretty difficult to win your first few games.
And even after you win your first games, You only earn about 0.5 DEC on average per win at the lowest ranking.
[Sidenote; It takes about 100 DEC to equate to 1 dollar at the time of writing]
So for anyone that is looking for a quick return in investment, Just buying the spellbook is not enough. It takes approximately 2-3 seasons to get back the money you spent on the spellbook if it is the only thing you buy.
However there are other options available such as the ability to post in the Hive Network which will net you a considerable amount of money which is significantly better than your overall earnings from just playing the game as a starter with nothing but the spellbook.
Renting cards is also another option, If you rent smart you will be able to reach silver which is considered to be the 'ok' point of the game.
Right now, I want to test out only buying the spellbook and continuing my blog on a daily basis and hopefully it does well so I can reuse my blog earnings to invest more into the game.
