Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: LEGENDARY
Element: DRAGON
Attack: MAGIC
Abilities: Flying, Scattershot, Blast and Blind
Ruleset and line-up:
Heavy Hitters - All Monsters have the Knock Out ability
Briar Patch - All Monsters have the Thorns ability
Mana Cap of 60.
Available Splinters - Earth, Life, Death and Dragon
My Team:
Summoner: Quix the Devious (-1 to Ranged damage, -1 to Speed)
1. Agor Longtail - Tank, Melee/Magic Damage Dealer with the Flying, Taunt and Void Armor abilities
2. Carnage Titan - Melee Damage Dealer with the Reach and Double Strike abilities
3. Oshuur Constantia - Magic Damage Dealer with the Resurrect ability
4. Chaos Dragon - Magic Damage Dealer with the Flying, Scattershot and Blast abilities
5. Mushroom Seer - Magic Damage Dealer with the Silence ability
6. Queen Mycelia - Magic Damage Dealer with the Protect and Amplify abilities
Strategy:
Decided to use mostly magic damage to bypass the thorns damage. I'm using Quix to lower potential ranged damage and the Mushroom Seer to lower incoming Magic damage and finally the Taunt and Resurrection combo with Agor and Oshuur to keep the rest of my team out of harms reach for as long as possible.
Position 1 - Agor Longtail:
Pretty much my favorite tank for high mana matches. Very mana consuming but the Taunt ability, extra dodge chance with the Flying ability and Void Armor so Magic will hit the Armor first too.
Position 2 - Carnage Titan:
Obvious position for the Carnage Titan because of the Reach ability.
Position 3 - Oshuur Constantia:
Perfect in combination with Agor Longtail. The Resurrection brings the tank back with 1 HP but the full amount or Armor, so he can usually take another 3-4 hits before going down for good.
Position 4 - Chaos Dragon:
Another very high mana monster but also worth it especially on high mana battles. Has a chance to do 2+3+2 damage each round depending on where the scattershot hits.
Position 5 - Mushroom Seer:
Great old card with the powerful Silence ability at level 1. Because of the Briar-Patch ruleset I expected at least a few mana monsters so this was an easy choice.
Position 6 - Queen Mycelia:
Always a great card to have. Armor for everyone and the Amplify makes the Thorn hurt even more. Usually I wouldn't place her in the back but Agor taunts the attacks for a while anyways so the positioning doesn't matter that much in this fight.
Round 1:
Very nice round for me, Chaos Dragon Scattershot hits the perfect spot and takes down Khmer Princess and damages the two Monsters around it. Mushroom Seer's silence ability was also a wise choice with 4 opponent Monsters dealing Magic damage.
Round 2:
The amount of damage my monsters do is too much for the opponent. Two monsters die and the rest get damaged as well.
Round 3:
Only the Regal Peryton gets to attack before my team finishes this pretty one-sided match
Final Hit:
Carnage Titan does the final hit to end this match.
Result:
My strategy was flawless in this fight, but the level difference of the summoners and the Scattershot-Luck helped to win this fight without losing any Monsters.
The Dragon splinter is my favorite. Most of the cards I have on a high level are the current reward cards and with the Dragon Splinter I get to use all of them from time to time. It also has a lot of high mana cards in the newer card releases so it is a great splinter for high mana matches.
