Ever had that moment where your low-mana unit unexpectedly turned the tide of battle? That’s kind of what Chaos Animator does in some very specific rule sets. She’s not flashy and won’t even do any damagewhen left alone but her unique kit can support your team and even punish enemy attackers if partnered with the right units.
This article covers why she might be worth your attention even with no attack of her own. At only 3 mana, with Amplify, Void and Redemption, she quietly does her job while allowing others to take the spotlight. Let’s talk about when she shines and when it’s better to keep her off the board in this very post.

Let's talk about… Chaos Animator

When it comes to transmutation, Tenni Mayla is something of a prodigy. Using nothing but a bit of magic and a wrench, she can build and animate mighty golems capable of great heaps of destruction.
Tenni was rather fond of the tyranny and oppression that the Chaos Empire brought when it conquered the Splinterlands but figured she'd much rather be on the giving than receiving end. Now, she uses her arcane craftsmanship in service to the empire, whether it be crushing revolts or stomping out insurgents—often quite literally.

Buy and Rent:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

At $35 for a max level Chaos Animator, the price is pretty fair if you're fond of Weapons Training. The low mana allows Chaos Animator to be used in almost any matches. It brings three useful abilities at level 10 and works in multiple niche rule sets making it a great pickup for a lot of players. Not everyone will need it but Redemption can always make a losing match a draw.

For 25.45 DEC per day at level 5, the rent is a bit high considering it only unlocks Amplify and Void but not Redemption yet. It’s okay if you only need those two abilities but the real value kicks in once you hit max level. Without access to level 10 in the rental market it might be better to buy than rent unless prices drop.

Rule Sets:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Use it in... |
![]() All Units have Return Fire (returns 50% of ranged damage to attacker, rounded up). Amplify increases Return Fire damage making Chaos Animator a really good unit in these rule set. |
![]() All units have Rebirth (self-resurrects once per battle with 1 health and 100% of armor; all magic debuffs are removed, and all magic buffs are reapplied; skips turn). Redemption triggers twice when the unit dies and revives through Rebirth. |
![]() Only Units & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles. Chaos Animator's 3 mana cost makes it eligible while still offering high health and good abilities. This rule set limits a lot of units so having access to good units really make the difference. |
Avoid using it in... |
![]() Units with Magic attack may not be used in battles. Void becomes useless since no magic attackers are present in this rule set. You can still use this unit but it won't be as effective as usual. |
![]() Melee attack Units can attack from any position. Most enemies will tend to use melee units to maximize this rule set which bypasses its Void. Like before, you can still use Chaos Animator but don't expect a lot. |
![]() Units lose all abilities. All abilities are stripped removing everything that makes it useful. Can act as a wall but a wall that punches back is always better. |

Battle Summary...

Battle Strat: Since this is a low mana battle, the cheapest play would be using Weapons Training since Daigendark Surveyor costs only 2 mana. With a Halfling Refugee (1 mana), Daarg Deadblast with Weapons Training (7 mana) and a Weapons Training target Daigendark Surveyor (2 Mana). All of that with Zeddica at 3 mana, I have all the advantages I need for this battle.
Battle Summary: Since Halfling Refugee can outheal Songale's attacks and Daarg Deadblast can heal most of Gonach Excavator's Sneak attack to Daigendark Surveyor, I have the advantage on both sides.
