Sometimes a good defense really is the best offense. Not every unit needs to deal big numbers or hit hard to be valuable. Some cards make their entire impact just by staying alive long enough to frustrate your enemies and if they help your team survive while doing it, that’s even better.
Yaba’s Pickle is one of those strange units that don’t make sense at first glance. No damage, low speed, and yet you’ll find it showing up in plenty of matches once players started picking up how to use him. Whether you like running late game strategies or just want a mana-efficient wall that doesn’t go down easily, this unit definitely has its place in your team.
This little Pickle is something I got and forgot after joining the event. I had 1300 staked SPS at the time and my 1 pull luckily ended me up with a Gold Foil Yaba's Pickle. That made my day. I had so much to do that I actually forgot that it exist until today.

At his cluttered workbench, Yabanius the Architect jumped in his seat. He hunched over, hands clutched to his chest and doing a terrible job of hiding… whatever he was hiding. His runi hovered at his side, its armored frame stock-still and silent.

Yaba's Pickle was priced decently in my opinion. This is a Gold Foil one that gives 10% extra rewards for every win. It's also a limited time event where you can only get him based on your staked SPS at the snapshot time. This makes him a very hard to get promo card for a limited event bumping his price for quite a bit.
For now, the rental price is a bit high but the Yaba's Pickle Gold Foil Arcane Fortune Draw event has not started yet. The price of the Gold Foils will probably decrease by next month when we have more supply of this lovely pickle. Even so, the rental price of 80 DEC per day for a max Gold foil is decent because of the bonus rewards per win.
Rule Sets:

| Use it in... |
 Units with Magic attack may not be used in battles. In this rule set, you and your enemy cannot use any magic attack unleashing the full potential of Shield. The downside is that you cannot use Daarg Deadblast as the Weapons Training unit but at the same time, Shield and Heal are a strong combination when your enemies does not have any magic attack. |
 Non-flying Units take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round. Yaba's Pickle doesn’t fly but with Heal and Shield, it can survive longer than most grounded units since Shield reduces the Earthquake damage by half and Heal restores his health each round. |
 Melee attack Units can attack from any position. Frontline or backline, Pickle can eat hits from melee attackers with ease due to Shield and Heal. With Melee Mayhem rule set, enemies might also be inclined to use more melee attacks making Yaba's Pickle a more reliable defender. |
| Avoid using it in... |
 All healing abilities are removed from Units and Summoners. Heal is a strong ability and without it, this unit suffers from lack of sustain. While Yaba's Pickle is still reliable because of his other abilities, the lack of Heal still hurts. |
 Units lose all abilities. All abilities get stripped which makes this just a non attacking damage sponge unit. At 4 mana, that might be pretty bad since he doesn't have the stats to tank a huge number of attacks without his abilities. |
 All units gain True Strike (attacks will never miss). This rule set invalidates Yaba's Pickle's Dodge ability reducing her overall effectiveness in defending himself against melee and range attacks. |

Battle Strat: With my lucky gold Pickle, I had him placed beside Daarg Deadblast for the Weapons Training. Daigendark Surveyor also gets the same benefit from the other side. At the back of my team is Shock Trooper and Abyssal Elemental for the damage while Commander Slade defends my team from the front.
Battle Summary: If I were using a max level Yaba's Pickle in this game, it would've been good since the enemy's range Opportunity units kept targetting him. While Yaba's Pickle get eliminated early, he still did his job by getting targetted first. After the passing of my Yaba's Pickle, my team started eliminating the enemies with the lead of Daarg Deadblast.
