Why do some strategies rely heavily on healing? How can the ability to heal others help sustain a team during challenging rule sets? Can Corrupted Healing really make a difference in surviving specific Splinterlands matches?
Arachne Weaver, with its strong Corrupted Healing ability and paired abilities like Scavenger, offers a unique strategy for enduring long battles. Corrupted Healing, on its own, act as multiple heals at once not to mention that she does 70% healing compared to the normal 30% from other abilities like Heal and Triage. This makes her a win condition in any battles. If you can keep your Arachne Weaver alive, you have a higher chance of winning.

Let's talk about… Arachne Weaver

Arachnes primarily inhabit the Deep and are considered one of the most feared predators of its subterranean ecosystem. They are highly aggressive and territorial and will attack any who venture within their domain.
They frequently employ a complex, strategic set of webs to create traps and barriers to ensnare their prey before devouring them at their leisure. Some are highly venomous. Others are adept magic users and healers—although oftentimes even their spells of healing are toxic.

Buy and Rent:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Arachne Weaver only has level 1s available on the market and it's expensive costing you an average of $2.45 each. If you're planning to max level this card, it would cost you a lot. Fortunately, you can also get Arachne Weaver as a Soulbound Rewards for Epic pulls.

An expensive card to buy is usually expensive also to rent. You do have a chance to rent a max level for 185 DEC per day which unlocks all abilities, especially the Scavenger ability, which is very important to Arachne Weaver since his Corrupted Healing can heal everyone except for himself.

Rule Sets:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Use it in... |
![]() Non-flying Units take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round. Arachne Weaver has no Flying but the more damage is on the board the easier he can farm Scavenger stacks. He can heal other's damage with Corrupted Healing which helps the whole team survive through Earthquake effects. |
![]() All Units start the battle Poisoned. Same idea as Earthquake but you lose the effect of your Poison ability here. Corrupted Healing helps you reduce damage and keep your team alive while Scavenger stacks make Arachne Weaver grow in health. |
![]() All units have Opportunity (targets the enemy unit with the least health). This rule set helps Arachne Weaver get Scavenger stacks faster by prioritizing low health units one by one. It also means that as Arachne Weaver gets more health from Scavenger, the chance of her being targetted by Opportunity lessens each unit's death. |
Avoid using it in... |
![]() All healing abilities are removed from Units and Summoners. This rule set completely shuts down Corrupted Healing. Death element lacks heal abilities and shutting down Corrupted Healing can be really detrimental to your team and strategy. |
![]() All units with magic and ranged attacks have Scattershot (magic and ranged attacks target a random enemy unit). Because Arachne Weaver cannot use Corrupted Healing to heal himself, here the Scattershot ability makes him vulnerable. The random hits may take him out before he can stack Scavenger or help the team. |
![]() All units have Magic Reflect (returns 50% of magic damage to attacker, rounded up). Arachne Weaver relies on magic attacks which makes him a target for Counterspell. Corrupted Healing cannot heal himself so the damage can accumulate over time. |

Battle Strat: I had a liking to this strategy of fully reducing the enemy's damage to as low as possible. In this lineup, I have -2 Melee attack, -2 Magic attack, -1 Slow and -1 Health. Then, since the enemy's attacks are reduced, Arachne Weaver doesn't need to heal others as much as needed.
Battle Summary: The battle was very close and I almost lost. I did not add any Headwinds that reduces range attacks because not a lot of team relies on that. This wouldn't have been so close though if my Cursed Windeku and Daigendark Hunter didn't miss so much on that enemy War Pegasus.
