Hello Hive Fam,
I'm writing today to see if I can garner support for the upcoming splinterlands proposal starting tomorrow. At the time of writing, we still have about 5 million HP left to go. I'm not sure how much we can do to remedy that, but I'm sure we can move the needle closer to what we need. So I'm going to detail some of the reasons why I think this would be beneficial to Hive. I'm also going to tag folks who I think might support. Hopefully it's not too much of an inconvenience.
So without further ado, here are my reasons why I think the Hive Community should support Splinterlands.
It's a product of our community. Matt (@yabapmatt) and @aggroed are both OG Hive members stemming from the Steem times. The characteristics of this blockchain created the environment which spawned Steem Monsters/Splinterlands. We're proud of it amd we should show that pride by supporting it.
Unlike other projects, Splinterlands isn't designed to be wholly funded by the blockchain. It is not reliant on the reward pool in order to reward players. It creates a product and customers buy and pay for that product. This could eventually be something that could eventually be sustainable regardless of crypto markets.
Hive could use more marketing. While this proposal doesn't claim to market Hive directly, having successful dApps proves the worth of our chain. We should support efforts which lead to better success of our products.
We need a win and we need something to rally around. Things like this help invigorate the Hive community and silence our haters.
