Rejoice fellow Splinterlands players for the team has listened to the community and updated the recent DEC - B proposal to make DEC - B Soulbound. While I still do believe that the Splinterlands DEC - B proposal is inherently inflationary, I think that making DEC-B soulbond does solve many of the issues that the community had with the original proposal and shows that the team is willing to consider community input. Since the team is in the mood to listen to players, I also wanted to put forward my proposal for the upcoming release of soulbound NFT rewards in Splinterlands.
Since soulbound NFTs are designed to reward long-term commitment and investment within the game, I propose that players can cumulatively earn points that can then be redeemed for soulbound NFT rewards. Under the current Splinterlands rewards system, a player that binge-plays the game for an entire day but then neglects the game for the rest of the season will earn far more rewards than a player that plays consistently every day but comes just shy of moving up in leagues or unlocking additional reward chests. In order to reward consistent investment in the game, I propose allowing players to earn soulbound NFT rewards at their own pace and limiting the level setbacks or league setbacks common to other rewards chests.
Obviously, this is not financial advice and may not even be a good proposal, but I would like to find a way of rewarding casual players and making them feel that they don't have to go all in and play hours a day to get meaningful rewards from the game.
