Since the last couple of months I just manage to reach Diamond III a couple of days before the season is going to get over. This is actually not so bad as this shows more players are getting active and levelling up their game by building their card portfolio. This is overall really bullish for the entire Splinterlands ecosystem but it does present a problem for me to advance upto Diamond I like I earlier used to manage.
I do believe that every challenge brings with it an opportunity and with the launch of new reward cards with new set of abilities there are more combinations to make in your battle team. It was clear to me this season that a good strategy is much more effective than having more expensive legendary cards.
Winning Streak to Speed through Gold I!
Usually crossing Gold I is a slow process for me and win rate trends to struggle around 50-55% and I am not able to maintain a winning streak for long. This time I was fortunate that I could keep my winning streak going which helped me clear Gold I relatively quickly. In Gold I most opponents have Legendary summoners like Lilypaw and Eternal Tofu but using my strategies I was able to overcome them with my Rare summoners again and again.
When you are able to beat a line up of maxed out Legendaries with your pack of Rares you feel like giving yourself a pat on the back that you are creating effective strategies.
Diamond III League Loot!
What I am most excited while moving into Diamond III League is wondering what will be inside the Ultimate reward chest that you earn only after you are into the Diamond leagues.
After I opened all the chests I was overall satisfied as the last few times I hardly got any cards and ended up with mostly potions.
This time exactly 50% chests had cards in them which is a really good percentage. On top of that I got an Epic Arachne which in my view is one of the strongest Epic cards. I got 5 pieces of the rare Razorhound which is not a great card but a decent one.
I also got 8 copies of Rare Thunderhoof in my Ultimate reward chest which was a great draw.
Key advantage of getting multiple copies of Razorhound and Thunderhoof was that I was directly able to level them up.
Getting a good amount of Merits meant I will be able to open one more Gladius pack to level up my Gladiators.
What Next in the Season?
Considering there are over 4 days still left in the current season I will try to push upwards to Diamond II League. If I manage I will try to rack up more Glint else during the last 2 days I will give Survival mode a shot again.
